Interested In Nursing? Check Out BCCC's Practical Nursing Program Info Sessions

Info sessions are being held on Nov. 30 and Dec. 6..

Bucks County Community College is hosting two free information sessions about its Practical Nursing program where attendees can learn how to enter the nursing profession in just one year.

The Nov. 30 session takes place at 6 p.m. in room 203 of the Allied Health Building on the campus at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. The Dec. 6 session takes place at 6 p.m. in room 257 of the South Building on the Upper Bucks Campus, located at 1 Hillendale Road, Perkasie.

“Practical nursing can open the door to an exciting career in health care as well as flexible and lucrative opportunities,” director of the Practical Nursing program Michelle Rue said. “The program is perfect for those who always wanted to be a nurse, are looking for a career change, and have the passion to make a difference in someone’s life.”

Attendees will learn about the application process, curriculum, and financial aid. Questions will also be answered about a career as a practical nurse and what you can expect in the job market.

The one-year, noncredit certificate program begins each July. Students attend full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at either the Newtown campus or Upper Bucks Campus in Perkasie, while clinical training takes place at various health care facilities in Bucks County. Students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
