Interviews Underway for New Council Rock Superintendent

In October, current Superintendent Mark Klein announced he would retire at the end of the 2015 academic year.

A search committee tasked with identifying a new superintendent for the Council Rock School District has begun conducting initial interviews, according to an update from the school board.

According to the update, the second round of interviews will be held over the next few weeks. The school board said it plans to select a new superintendent by July 1.

Klein has served as the district’s superintendent since 2004. In 2012, the Council Rock School Board unanimously approved extending his contract through June 2017. Under the terms of his contract, a minimum of 150 days notice is required if departing before June 2017.

According to the update from the board, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 is assisting with the search process and Dr. Barry Galasso, the IU Executive Director, is serving as the board¹s search consultant.
