Juveniles Swipe Twisted Tea, DUI Charges Pending In Newtown Township
Motorist cited for suspected marijuana; unknown object stolen from ACE Hardware store; and a fraud case involving a mailed check.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police reported the following incidents and arrests between May 5 and May 11:
Friday, May 5
- At approximately 10:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a red E250 van operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Second Street Pike. As a result of the investigation, a small amount of suspected marijuana was discovered and seized as evidence. The operator was cited.
- Police were dispatched to Ace Hardware around 3:30 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. An unknown object was taken by two men who left the scene in a silver Toyota Camry prior to police arrival.
- Police were dispatched to Acme at approximately 8:45 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. Three juveniles stole two 12-packs of Twisted Tea and left the scene in a black Audi sedan prior to police arrival.

- At approximately 1:30 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Windy Bush and Durham Roads in Wrightstown Township. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 2:30 p.m. to report a fraud involving a mailed check. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, May 11
- Police were dispatched to a business located on Penns Trail at approximately 1:45 p.m. for the report of a fraud involving numerous counterfeit checks. The investigation is ongoing.
