La Stalla Italian Market, owned by the popular Newtown restaurant, will be open for business Wednesday.

La Stalla Italian Market will be open for business Wednesday in Newtown.
The shop, under the same ownership as the popular Newtown restaurant with the same name, will be open for business at 8 a.m. It is located on Sycamore Street in The Promenade shopping center.

Shop hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
The shop will carry Italian pastries, prepared foods for takeout, Italian breads, imported meats and cheeses, homemade meatballs and sausage, and a full line of Italian specialty grocery items.

"We also plan on doing catering and wine and cheese events at people's homes and businesses. And I'm sure we will be expanding those ideas based on customer requests and feedback," owner Marc Masso told Patch when the project was announced.
The Promenade, located on Sycamore Street, is the shopping center that also houses Anthropologie.
