Langhorne's Troop 19 Cooks Up a Thanksgiving Service Project

Boy scouts from Troop 19 at Langhorne Presbyterian Church held their annual Aid for Friends service project Tuesday November 24th.

Twenty seven boy scouts from Troop 19 in Langhorne recently prepared 89 turkey dinners for Aid For Friends, a volunteer organization the provides home-cooked meals and weekly visits to the homebound in the greater Philadelphia region.

Scoutmaster Hugh Green planned the event with Brittany Brown who is the church’s Aid for Friends coordinator.

“Families volunteer to bring the turkey” said Elyse Turner. “We currently have three patrols. One was assigned to bring the mashed potatoes, another brought string beans and the last brought carrots. The Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader brought gravy and the adult leaders brought cookies.”
