Lighting, Signs for New Anthropologie Store to Be Discussed Wednesday

Signage and lighting for the new Anthropologie store coming to Sycamore Street is on the Newtown Township supervisors' Wednesday agenda.

Newtown’s Historical Architecture Review Board will discuss some minor approvals for the Anthropologie store coming to Sycamore Street during a Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday.

According to the meeting agenda, the review board will discuss signage and lighting at the supervisors meeting.

Anthropologie will open at The Promenade, a mixed-use development under construction at the old Acme site. The clothing and home accessories chain is the anchor retailer in the project, which has been under construction since September.

Property owner Jim Worthington has said he estimates construction could take up to 10 months.

When complete, The Promenade will have 26 luxury apartments and four to six high-end retailers.

The community has been awaiting development of the site for years. Plans for The Promenade were approved in 2012 and the decaying building was torn down months later but construction stalled due to a sewer moratorium impacting Bucks County.

But even once the sewer issue was resolved, an easement was required for the project to move forward.
