Local Businessman and Attorney to Run for District Judge
Shawn Ward is an attorney, President of the Sycamore Street Community Association and former Newtown Township Planning Commission Chairman.

Shawn Ward announced this week that he will run for the Magisterial District Judge seat left vacant upon the recent passing of Judge Donald Nasshorn.
Ward, 51, the former Newtown Township Planning Commission Chairman and the original co-developer of the Green Parrot Restaurant & Pub on Sycamore Street, is an attorney who has been practicing law for more than 25 years.
Ward practices predominately in the area of zoning, land-use, municipal code enforcement, real estate, DUI, landlord-tenant, small-claims and traffic matters, according to his bio.

He is also the long-time president and charter member of the Sycamore Street Community Association.
“My 25 years experience in practicing law in these areas positions me such that upon election, I can take the bench immediately and hit the ground running as the matters that come before the district court are the very same matters that I have been handling for clients for all of my 25-years practicing law,” Ward said in a statement announcing his candidacy.

Ward also presently serves as a member of the Newtown Township Zoning Hearing Board. He was chairman of the Newtown Township Planning Commission for about 11 years and also served on the Newtown Area Joint Planning Commission
Ward has lived in Newtown Township for more than 20 years with his wife, Cheryl.
