NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Theatre's Live! music series will continue next month with a show featuring country classics. On Friday, Nov. 2, local musicians will perform live covers of country classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Musicians include Michael Southerton, Brad Hinton and Vintage Country.
The show starts at 8 p.m.
According to information from the theatre, Michael Southerton (Song Dogs/Route 611) has been playing in and around the Philadelphia music scene for more than a decade. "His songs are of the wild country, of the Buffalo Crossroads, of the laurel, oak, and pine," the theatre's event announcement said.

Brad Hinton is a staple of the Philadelphia folk music scene and has played in such seminal groups as Wissahickon Chicken Shack, Mason Porter, Hezekiah Jones, Spinning Leaves, and others. "He is a song-writer and performer, but also an accomplished side-man, continually honing his skills on guitar, lap steel, dobro and banjo. You can see him play around town with Hezekiah Jones, Tin Bird Choir, Tumbleweed, Hinton, Bower, Jones, and his own ever-changing band," the theatre said in the announcement.
Vintage Country is the husband/wife duet of Mark and Leticia Arrington. "They've been singing these songs for over 25 years, recreating the classic Nashville sound that's not often heard in today's country bands," according to the event announcement.
