Local Police Rescue Dog From Hole And Write Awesome Poem About It

Did you know your local police officers are not only skilled at ensuring public safety? They are also great poets.

After a pup fell in a hole near the canal Thursday afternoon, Upper Makefield Police wrote a creative poem on social media about the incident.

The poem, entitled "A Dog Rescue Poem" and posted to Facebook, starts by telling the story of the rescue:

Today, in mid afternoon
while on patrol
We were dispatched to the canal
for a family dog stuck in a hole

A dip in the cool water
with a short swim to the shore,
Turned into something bigger
than this dog ever bargained for

It concludes with this advice for other curious pets looking to for adventure:

A cautionary tale this is for all those curious canines
Please be careful when you follow your nose
For you might end up in precarious confines
