Local Quaker and Former Theater Director Steve Bacher to present his Spiritual Journey to Newtown Quaker Meeting Adult Class
Bacher will discuss his Journey including "a powerful spiritual experience" at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, February 26, Newtown Friends Meetinghouse

Steve Bacher of Newtown, member of Newtown Friends Meeting, former theater director, digital marketer and grant writer, will discuss his Spiritual Journey at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 26 at the Newtown Friends Meetinghouse (http://www. newtownfriendsmeeting.org), 219 Court Street, Newtown.
Bacher said his Spiritual Journey talk will trace his “religious and spiritual beliefs from childhood to the present, with a major detour through a powerful spiritual experience seven years ago.”

Steve’s career started in theater directing. He holds a B.A. in Theater/English from Wesleyan University and an M.F.A. in Drama from The University of Texas at Austin.
Steve co-founded Vortex Repertory Company in Austin, Texas, served as Director of Digital Marketing for Bucks County Community College and has been a grant writer and administrator for various nonprofits. He currently writes grants for Camp No Limits, a nonprofit providing camp experiences for children with limb loss or limb differences and their families.

Bacher also serves as Vice Chair of The Newtown Democratic Club, and volunteers with 350.org, The Climate Reality Project, political campaigns and other environmental and progressive causes. In his free time he said he “dabbles in creative writing.”
Steve Bacher lives in Newtown with Karen Courtney, his wife of 20 years and Vice President of The Children's Home Society of New Jersey, and their two children. First introduced to Newtown Friends Meeting by attending Tzedek v’Shalom Reconstructionist Jewish congregation in the Meetinghouse with his parents, Bacher and his family started attending Friends Meeting for Worship in 2013.
Newtown Friends Meeting is open to the public for all events, with Sunday School classes for children and adults at 9:45 a.m. and worship “after the manner of Friends” at 11 a.m. Childcare is provided.
