Art Show Extended: on display Tuesday June 13th!
Learn about 28 notable individuals devoted to peace, equality and helping others. See their portraits painted by local art students!

Several students from Newtown, Yardley, and Holland PA are promoting peace through their art. The students age 9 – 17 have invested a great deal of time and effort into painting a collection of 28 beautiful portraits of individuals devoted to peace, equality, and helping others. Countryside Gallery in Newtown has generously donated the space for the students to hold their educational and inspirational group art exhibit titled “Portraits of Change”. The artwork will be on display for the community to enjoy for one week from June 10th-11th. Admission to the show is free, but if you feel moved or inspired by the students’ artwork, please consider showing them by making a donation in the amount of your choice made out to “The Peace Center” while you are attending the show. 100% of all donations collected at the student art show will benefit The Peace Center of Langhorne, a non-profit social services organization that works with local school districts to prevent and intervene in cases of bullying, cyberbullying, intolerance, racism and discrimination. They have been working on conflict resolution in schools and communities for over twenty years. To learn more about The Peace Center’s school programs visit www.thepeacecenter.org.
In today’s divided social climate now is the time to teach peace, and these students are certainly doing their part. Please come out to support our local young artists who have worked so hard to create these portraits and make an effort to promote peace while helping a good cause. Countryside Gallery is located at 2 South State Street in the heart of historic Newtown. Open Tuesday from 10am-6pm. For More info call 215-968-2246.
