Longtime State Street Business Closing After Nearly 50 Years

NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown Jewelers, which has operated on State Street for nearly 50 years, will be closing this month, according to a report by the Newtown Advance.

Owner Cheryl Durr Smith told the publication the store will close around March 18. From there, she told the publication she plans to "take the business on the road" by offering engravings, watch batteries and bands at local retirement and nursing homes.
