LOOK: Rainbows Appear Over Pope In Philly, New York
Rainbows appearing over Pope Francis in both Philadelphia and New York were captured in several photographs.
What appeared to be a rainbow showed up in the sky over Pope Francis in Philadelphia Saturday—and it wasn’t the first time that happened on his United States trip.
Numerous photos that have been shared on social media show rainbows during Pope events in both Philadelphia, where Francis arrived Saturday, and in New York, where he was the day before.
A rainbow appeared in the sky as Pope Francis finished his speech at Independence Mall Saturday afternoon, according to eyewitnesses. Meghan Montemurro, a photographer with the The Wilmington News Journal, snapped a picture of the phenomenon, which is attached to this post with permission.

“A lot of people around me said they got chills seeing a rainbow appear for 2nd time today as Pope Francis gave his speech. Energized crowd,” Montemurro Tweeted.
She wasn’t the only one who captured it on camera. Dozens of photos and commentary about the rainbow filled Twitter.

“Incredible rainbow in the sky as we wait for Pope Francis to parade by! God is good!,” wrote Twitter user KPKinderPals, along with this photo.
But is there a Papal rainbow connection?
Eyewitnesses in New York say there was also a rainbow in that city Friday when the Pope was there.
Central Park spectators who were waiting for a glimpse of Pope Francis reported seeing it in the sky before he paraded through the area. Here is a picture of the rainbow over New York’s Central Park on Friday.
