Magic Coming like Never Seen Before in this Land or Tyme
Science, Magic, or Something else---and come Sept 17 & 18, you will have the most fun ever trying to answer that question right here
Science, Magic, or Something else---the Question has always been the same—and come Sept 17 & 18, you might be able to answer that question for yourself… and if you can’t … it really doesn’t matter you will never have more fun trying.
The 17th Village Renaissance Faire prides itself on new and interesting twists on edutainment, and this year is no different, as a rapidly rising new duo bring their novel show to the donated Middletown Grange Fairgrounds in Wrightstown, PA to help the public library. And they wont be alone as the Faire boasts a return of practically all the 2015 performers with new shows, as well as its largest expansion of new shows ever. Why? Fair Director Ken Hone says, well to average 9,000 guests for more than a decade you need to get bigger and better every year.
What do the Armchair Wizards do, simply something no-one else has ever done. They created a Massive, Multiplayer, On-stage, Live Action Role Playing Game Show (MMOLARPGS for short) which provides attendees with an interactive improvisational experience where fairegoers participate in the game, even when they are not participating in the game! Three adventurers from the audience join Timotheous the Orange and Lilith the Elf as they lead a journey through the collective nerdism of all things pop-culture. When confronted with a challenge, our adventurers announce their action one-at-a-time, and are given a minimum number which they must roll on our giant 20-sided-die. If they succeed in their roll, they succeed in their action, gaining a level and a new piece of loot! However, if they fail the roll, Lilith the Elf will give them Shame Loot- a ridiculous item or article of clothing which impedes their progress for the rest of the game. Get three Shame Loot and your character dies of shame!

If you're in the audience, you have even more power! Purchase some unique God Coins from Lil' Boxy, the Wizard's Treasure Chest, and alter the game as you see fit! Throw two God Coins at Timotheous to demand a Re-roll. Throw five to add details to the story and make Timotheous improvise around it! Throw ten to kill a character where they stand, and even take their place if you wish! The crowd controls the world of the Armchair Wizards, and The Armchair Wizards control the world of the MMOLARPGS. They may only hail from State College but their shows, persona, and class suggest a much farther and older origin, and a funnier one at that.
Fans love them, check them out at youtube.com/armchairwizards and find out why.

So why come to Wrightstown, well, if you are a fairegoer this is the only place you can find the wizards around here. And if you are the wizards there is no more noble cause than a faire volunteering for 17 years to help the community. Don’t worry, although you could be entertained by the Armchair wizards all day, you don’t need be, as there are more than 40 different performing ensembles, artisans, merchants, food, inflatables, games, and even free crafts and a hands-on learning playland for the wee ones aptly named Kids Kingdom.
