The Mahavishnu Project To Play The Historic Newtown Theatre

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will welcome The Mahavishnu

Project to its stage on Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m.

The Mahavishnu Project interprets the classic music of The Mahavishnu Orchestra – a jazz/rock fusion band formed in New York City in 1971 and led by English guitarist John McLaughlin. The band was acclaimed for its complex, intense music consisting of a blend of Indian classical music, jazz, and psychedelic rock as well as its dynamic live performances.

The Newtown concert will feature the music of Mahavishnu's "Birds of Fire," plus iconic songs by Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer from the 1970s masterpieces, "Blow By Blow," "Wired" and "There & Back."

Tickets are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $30 per person or $25 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $40 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before and during the show. The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
