Man Arrested, Stolen Vehicle Recovered At Newtown ACME Parking Lot

Police said a license plate reader alerted law enforcement to the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Cheltenham.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police converged on the parking lot of the ACME store on West Road Wednesday afternoon after receiving a license plate reader alert for a stolen vehicle.

Police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Dodge Durango at the Newtown Shopping Center around 5 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, the vehicle that was reported stolen out of Cheltenham was recovered and a man was apprehended and charged with receiving stolen property.
