Man In Custody Following Disturbance: Newtown Township Police Report

Police also conducted a truck safety detail in Upper Makefield and arrested a man for simple assault, making terroristic threats.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between March 17 and March 25:

Sunday, March 17

  • At approximately 6:56 a.m. police were dispatched to a home in Headley Trace for the report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, a man was arrested and charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment.

  • The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail on River Road in Upper Makefield. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, 15 trucks were stopped and inspected. No trucks were placed out of service and two citations and four warnings were issued for violations that were found.

Thursday, March 21

  • At approximately 4:32 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township home for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, a man was taken into custody. Charges are pending, police said.
