Man Fires Shot Inside Newtown Township Municipal Complex: Police
The man, believed to be suicidal, was subsequently taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for criminal processing.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after firing a shot while driving through the Newtown Township Municipal Complex off of Durham Road.
Newtown Township Police initially responded to a report of a man armed with a gun at a residence in the Windermere development at about 3:25 p.m. Upon arrival, police received information that the man had left in his car armed with a handgun and was possibly suicidal.
Flash information was broadcasted over Bucks County Police Radio with a description of the automobile.

At approximately 3:46 p.m., Newtown Township Police, while inside police headquarters, heard the sound of a gunshot outside of police headquarters within the township complex off of Durham Road and went to investigate.
Newtown Township employees walking along Municipal Drive at the time also heard the gunshot and observed a man in a vehicle driving inbound, circling the police station lot and then traveling outbound through the township complex.

The vehicle, which matched the initial description, was followed and stopped by police at Iris Court and Columbine Circle. A firearm was recovered by police on the passenger seat and the man and vehicle were secured.
The man was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters for criminal processing. The vehicle was towed and secured. No injuries were reported.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Update may occur after formal charges are made.
