Man Shoots Himself At Newtown Township Office Building: Police
Police were dispatched to the Law School Admissions Council for the report of a man armed with a gun and a subsequent shooting.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —A man armed with a gun shot himself at a Newtown Township office building late Tuesday afternoon, according to Newtown Township Police.
The incident happened on Tuesday, March 28 at about 4:18 p.m. at the Law School Admission Council located at 622 East Penn Street in Newtown.
Police were dispatched for the report of a man armed with a gun and a subsequent shooting. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Mary Medical Center where he is listed in extremely critical condition, police said.

Police evacuated the building and brought in a K9 trained in explosives from the Middletown Township Police Department to search the building and the man's vehicle.
"There were negative indicators by the K9 and the scene was being fully investigated," said police. "No further assistance was required and there are no known threats to the community."

The man's identity is not being released until family notifications can be made.
Assisting the Newtown Township Police at the scene were police from Newtown Borough, Middletown Township and Lower Makefield.
