The second McConkey’s Market is scheduled for Sept. 21 at Washington Crossing Historic Park. The market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and this time will be called McConkey’s Market & Muster.

The market, which made its debut in June, features artisan crafts, up-cycled items, handmade jewelry, original art, photography, clothing and more.

This time, in addition to the items for sale, the day will feature a variety of historical demonstrations, a military encampment and drills, historical crafters, reenactors in colonial dress and children’s activities.

Admission is free and the event is held rain or shine.

McConkey’s Market takes its name from the park’s McConkey Ferry Inn, parts of which date back to 1750. The building represents a typical country inn or tavern of the Revolutionary era.

Tradition has it that George Washington ate at the Inn prior to his crossing of the Delaware River.
