Melt, A Grilled Cheese Chain, Gets Approval For Newtown Shop
The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors have approved a conditional use application for Melt, a NY-based grilled cheese chain.

NEWTOWN, PA — An application for a Melt restaurant at the Village at Newtown shopping center has been approved by the Township Board of Supervisors.
The popular New York-based grilled cheese shop's conditional use application for a restaurant at 2822 S. Eagle Road was approved during a meeting Wednesday. An opening date is not yet available, Melt representatives told Patch.
Melt has an existing store at the King of Prussia Mall, as well as locations in New York, New Jersey, Delaware and at the Mall of America in Minnesota.

The menus vary by location, but all include an array of savory sandwiches with creative combinations. Dishes on the menu at the King of Prussia location include chicken melts, burger melts, maple bacon grilled cheeses, salads, milkshakes, and house-made chicken tenders.
The franchisee is Drew Smith, who owns 23 Five Guys locations the Philly area, according to Philadelphia Magazine. Smith also has plans for 20 to 30 more Melt locations across the region, including one in Langhorne, the publication reported.
