Meth Seized From Scooter Operator, Motorist In Newtown Township

Police also reported numerous incidents of fraud, including altered checks and a contractor who didn't finish the job.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Township Police reported the following incidents and arrests between Friday, Sept. 15, and Thursday, Sept. 21.

Friday, September 15

  • A Wrightstown Township resident reported an incident of fraud involving a hired contractor who never completed the work. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A Wrightstown Township resident reported an incident of fraud involving altered checks. The investigation is ongoing.
  • At approximately 11:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on an electronic scooter operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.

  • A Newtown Township resident contacted police at 9 a.m. to report fraudulent charges on one of their financial accounts. The investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, September 20

  • The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Durham Road and Fox Hill Drive in Wrightstown. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, 13 trucks were stopped and inspected and five citations and three warnings were issued for violations that were found.
  • A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 10:30 a.m. to report fraudulent charges on their credit card. The bank investigated the transactions and reimbursed the resident.

  • At approximately 2 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Malibu operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Fountain Farm Lane and Newtown Gate Drive. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Bucks County. A small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
