Mobile Learning Lab Debuts at Newtown Middle School
The Newtown Middle School PTA recently fundraised to donate 10 new Apple iPads, worth more than $7,000.

Newtown Middle School students are enjoying a mobile learning lab this year, thanks to the efforts of the school’s PTA.
The PTA recently fundraised to donate 10 new Apple iPads, worth more than $7,000. The iPads were purchased in June and were set up over the summer. They are now available for the students to use.
“The iPads can be used as stations within a classroom, groups of students can use them while others work on another part of an activity or they can be used in small group instruction. They can also connect with the smart boards in classrooms for added interactivity,” according to information from the PTA.

Both 7th and 8th grade students will be using the iPads.
Money to provide the donation was raised through membership funds to the PTA and various fundraisers through the year, said PTA member Carol Boyle. The PTA plans on purchasing more iPads in the future through additional fundraising efforts, Boyle added.
