'Native Plants, Thriving Habitats' Topic Of Newtown EAC Event
The public is invited to attend what is expected to be an inspiring evening of learning and guest speakers.
NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Township and Newtown Borough Environmental Advisory Councils are teaming up to present a free program, "Native Plants, Thriving Habitats: How You Can Help," on Thursday, May 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.
The public is invited to attend what is expected to be an inspiring evening "as we explore how individuals can make a meaningful impact on the environment - no matter the size of their space."

- Krista McCook from Homegrown National Park (Doug Tallamy’s new initiative) will share how anyone — whether they have acres of land or just a few potted plants — can contribute to ecological restoration. (Krista will be joining the event via Zoom.)
- Diane Smith from Bucks County Audubon Society at Honey Hollow will speak to wildflowers and why they are important to local habitats. Participants will also learn about native flowers that can be used to keep pollinators happy and healthy.
In addition, Gino’s Native Nursery will be raffling off a $50 gift certificate.
