NBA Welcome Day 2020 Cancelled Due To COVID-19

The annual "street fair with flair" scheduled for May and then rescheduled to September has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The annual Welcome Day event hosted by the Newtown Business Association has officially been cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The "street fair with flair" was scheduled to take place in May before being rescheduled due to health precautions and guidelines from the CDC and the state.

However, on May 19th the Newtown Business Association announced via Instagram and social media that the annual event has been cancelled completely for 2020. The official statement read: "Out of an abundance of caution for public health and to help mitigate any potential for the spread of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, we are saddened to announce that NBA Welcome Day has been cancelled for 2020."

The event is currently scheduled to occur in 2021. Everyone who has registered or purchased sponsorship for the event will be refunded their fees and they should be processed in the upcoming weeks.

The annual event attracts over 10,000 people each year and has even won the 2020 Bucks Happening List award for Best Family Event.
