Nearly All Bucks County Schools Reportedly Carrying Opiate Overdose Antidote

All county districts except one are stocking the life-saving drug, reports say.

Nearly all Bucks County School Districts are now carrying the life-saving opiate-effect reversing drug Naloxone, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

According to the outlet, the only district in the county to not carry the drug is Bristol Borough School District.

Naloxone, known by its brand name Narcan, is a drug that reverses the effects of opiates and has been attributed to countless lives being saved throughout the country due to it effectiveness.

The drug can be administered nasally or through an injection. The Times reports Bucks County schools are stocking the nasal spray fro of the antidote.

Naloxone costs to the districts have been low thanks to the help the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission Inc. and others, the outlet reports.
