PINEVILLE, PA — An exciting new dining experience is coming to the historic Pineville Tavern in Wrightstown, just in time for Valentine's Day.

While guests will continue to enjoy all of their favorite menu items, beginning on Friday, Feb 13, they will now be able to choose from a new Italian Steakhouse menu inspired by the Abruzzese family's Italian heritage.

"'Dal Abruzzese' means 'From Abruzzo,' which is where my father's family migrated from in the late 1800s," said Pineville owner Andrew Abruzzese. "My mother's family hailed from Naples, and the collaboration began when my parents were married in 1950.

"With that in mind, we've decided to offer an exciting new menu, inspired by Abruzzese family favorites and taken to another level by Chef Matthew Levin," said Andrew

Over the last couple of months, Chef Matthew, along with Andrew's son, Drew, have been in the kitchen "experimenting, testing, and perfecting some of the best modern versions of Italian classics we've ever seen and tasted."

The idea grew out of conversations between Andrew and longtime friend, mentor, and legend in the restaurant business, Jeffery Chodorow, who has been dining at the Pineville for more than 30 years.

"During a conversation last summer, Jeffery suggested that we might devote a section of our menu to Abruzzese family favorites," said Andrew. "I said, I never thought of The Pineville Tavern as being Italian, but it has some of the best Italian food anywhere around."

So, Matt and Drew started cooking, the Chodorow's and the Abruzzese's began tasting and adjusting and tasting again — four different tasting sessions. That's when the idea evolved into a completely new menu and exciting new dining experience.

According to Andrew, the front bar and dining room, along with the adjoining "fireplace" room, will remain the casual, laid-back Pineville Tavern "that you know and love." Meanwhile, the newest bar, dining room, and garden room will become "Dal Abruzzese," where guests can enjoy an exciting and upscale dining experience.

"Both our tavern menu and our Italian menu will be available in all of our dining spaces," said Andrew, adding that they've already had a couple of showcase evenings "to test things out," but the big grand opening will take place on Friday evening, Feb. 13.
