New Hope Borough Council Appoints Interim Manager

NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Borough Council at its July meeting unanimously appointed Bucks County veteran municipal manager Dave Nyman as the town’s interim administrator while it searches for a replacement for Peter Gray.

Nyman most recently served as the manager of Upper Makefield where he oversaw the administration of the township for eight years, retiring in 2025.

Before that he served stints as township manager in East and West Rockhill, Plumstead, Warwick, Wrightstown, and Dublin Borough.

“He will be with us for the next three to four months while we go through the very significant vetting process of finding a new manager,” said council president Maisel.

The council has engaged the Meyner Center of Lafayette College to assist the borough with its search for a new manager.

“They have a very extensive and thorough (search) process that includes many interviews and a very exhaustive process,” said Maisel. “You can be assured that we’re putting our best foot forward to get a great replacement for our Peter Gray who has served us with a lot of heart and dedication.”

Gray is stepping down at the end of this month to take the newly created job of assistant manager of Bristol Borough.

Gray came to New Hope in 2020 from Falls Township where he had served as manager for 13 years and finance director for seven years. He replaced EJ Lee who served two years as manager.

“I have enjoyed my time in New Hope and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity,” said Gray who has led the borough for the past six years, punctuated by a search for a new police chief and the challenges of the COVID pandemic.

Gray will be joining Bristol Borough Manager James Dillon at the administrative helm of the riverfront town, which has a population of about 10,000 people and is the oldest borough in the county.
