The developer of Steeple View released new renderings of what the highly-anticipated project will look like when done. What do you think?

The developer of a new mixed-use development on South State Street released new renderings of what the highly-anticipated project will look like when complete.

The first phase of Steeple View is now under way and includes the construction of a three-story building with retail and residential uses at the former Stockburger site.

As far as progress on the construction goes, the steel frame will begin to be erected later this month, developer Allan Smith tells Patch.

Tenants have already signed on. Banana Republic has confirmed it will open a store in the building. Additionally, Francesca’s, a women's clothing and accessory boutique, has also decided to open up a location in Steeple View.

Five of the residential condos have been already been sold, BucksLocalNews.com reports.

This is just the first part of the project, however. The second phase is still moving through the approval process.

Preliminary and final land development approvals are still needed for the second phase, which includes additional retail and a town square in the area behind the Starbucks and Newtown Hardware House.

In late October, the borough’s Zoning Hearing Board granted approval for the major redevelopment project, which includes 12 mixed-use buildings, a parking garage and a creek walk.
