New Member Appointed To Council Rock School Board

Ed Salamon, a retired Philly police officer and volunteer with the Holland Elementary PTO, was appointed to the Council Rock School Board.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School Board has appointed a new member. During a special meeting Thursday, Ed Salamon was appointed as the new Region 5 board member.

Salamon replaces Jerold Grupp, who resigned on Jan. 6.

According to information provided by the district, Salamon has been a Holland resident for the last six years. He and his wife, Deborah, have three children, all of whom currently attend Council Rock School District.

Salamon worked as a Philadelphia Police Officer for 25 years prior to retiring from duty. He is involved with the Holland Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, having served as both vice president and president.

Salamon has been a member of the Superintendent's Parents Advisory Council for the past three years and most recently served on the Council Rock Redistricting Committee.

In addition to his volunteer work within Council Rock School District, Salamon has a strong history of continuous involvement with the Northampton Girls Softball Association, having held such positions as president, commissioner, and head coach, the district said.
