Newtown Acme Renovating For New Beer, Wine Store

Renovations are underway at the Newtown Acme for the store's upcoming beer and wine shop.

The store is undergoing renovations near the deli area to make way for the Frosted Mug cafe, which will sell beer and wine.

"We anticipate that the Newtown ACME store will be selling beer and wine by May but that is subject to change," Acme spokeswoman Danielle D'Elia wrote in an email to Patch.

Last spring, the store received liquor license transfer approval from the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors.

According to the approved proposal, Acme will renovate the interior of the existing store to add a 30-seat restaurant that will serve prepared food and beer for on-premises consumption and take out.

Acme stores with Frosted Mug cafes currently include the following Pennsylvania locations, among others: Doylestown, Flourtown, Devon, Granite Run and Concordville.
