Newtown Arts Company Holding Auditions for 'Brigadoon'

Newtown Arts Company is holding auditions for its upcoming production of "Brigadoon."
Auditions will be held on Oct. 7 and 9 at Crossing Community Church, 80 Lower Silver Lake Road, Newtown. Auditions begin at 6 p.m.
All roles for the production are open to actors and actresses five and older. Performance dates are Dec. 5 through 11 at the Newtown Theatre.

Director Mary Liz Ivins, Musical Director Susan den Outer and Choreographer Joyce Rubinsohn are casting 15 roles (10 male, 5 female) plus a chorus of townspeople. Bring a resume and headshot. Be prepared to sing a song from Brigadoon. Piano accompaniment will be provided; no CDs accepted and a cappella singing is discouraged. Auditions may include cold readings from the script and demonstration of movement and dance skills.

Andrew MacLaren - Father of Fiona and Jean
Fiona MacLaren - Andrew's older daughter
Jean MacLaren - Andrew's younger daughter

Meg Brokie - a young, flirtatious character
