Newtown Arts Company Presents 'A Christmas Carol'

The Newtown Arts Company will close out its season with the holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol." Performances start Nov. 30.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Arts Company will close out its season with the holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol." Performances will be held Nov. 30 through Dec. 6 at the Newtown Theatre.

The final show of Newtown Arts Company’s 2017 season tells the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge.

"He is forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him though his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful Happy Christmas before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those who mean the most to him," according to a plot description from the Newtown Arts Company.

The performance is directed by Mary Liz Ivins with musical direction by Susan den Outer. It features Jim Banar as Ebenezer Scrooge, Amelia Arrigo Ball as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Jane Landes as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Beverly Speer as the Ghost of Christmas Future, Colin Jenei as Bob Cratchit, Liam McKernan as Tiny Tim and Rick Speer as Nephew Fred. The show is produced by Lisa Reiser and Bonnie Dettra, with costume design by Debby DerDerian and stage management by Natalie Taptykoff.

Performances will be held Thursday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Friday evening at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday matinee at 2:00 p.m. and evening at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.
