Lesser said that the seed for this book had been planted in her head for a long time.
“After employing 5 nannies over the course of nearly a decade of being a working mom, I came to the understanding that the working mom/nanny relationship is like no other one out there,” she said. “It’s more than just professional, and sometimes I grew as close to my nannies as I would family members and put up with so much stuff so that I could make it work.”

“My friends and colleagues had similar stories to share with me. I always thought there was a book in here. After attending a writer’s conference a few years ago, I got the motivation I needed to get these stories on paper and write the book.”
Lesser cites Elizabeth Bennet in “Pride and Prejudice” and Scout in “To Kill A Mockingbird” as favorites and personal influences.
She previously worked in marketing and advertising, and has an MBA from the University of Michigan.
She will also be hosting a book event on Saturday, May 9 at 12 p.m. at The Princeton Marketfair Barnes and Noble Store.
Excerpts from her new book are available on her website.
