Newtown Boy Scout Troop 29 takes 2nd in West Point Scoutmasters' Council Invitational Camporee
Boy scouts from Newtown's Troop 29 among the top finishers in scouting and military-based skills at West Point Camporee
Newtown's Troop 29 that accomplished a 2nd place finish at the West Point Scoutmasters' Council Invitational Camporee. The troop competed with over 6000 girl scouts, boy scouts, venture crews and civil air patrol groups in a variety of military and scouting-based activities including land navigation, first aid, weapons safety and maintenance, zodiac boat race, fire building, military drill, and physical fitness.
Troop 29, which is chartered by the Lutheran Church of God's Love, has previously been awarded the 1st Place Saber an unprecedented 9 times.
