Newtown Business Named To Greater Philadelphia's "Civic 50" List

NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown-based Exact Solar has been named one of Greater Philadelphia's "Civic 50," a prestigious listing of regional companies that are making a difference in their communities.

Modeled after Points of Light’s national program, The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia provides a standard for corporate citizenship and showcases how employers use their time, skills, and resources to drive social impact in their communities and company.

“We are honored to receive this award for the second year,” said Doug Edwards, president of Exact Solar. “Our dedicated team continues our commitment to environmental advocacy, career development for green jobs, and educational engagement for K-12. We believe clean energy, like solar, is the right approach for protecting our planet which is why we support and connect with local schools because the children represent our future.”

Exact Solar also made the "Civic 50" list in 2022 for its environmental stewardship.

“Our goal is to be proactive in bringing about positive community and global change, both environmentally and socially,” said Edwards.

In the last year Exact Solar donated a solar system to the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County

“We understand that we can assist their vital work by helping them redirect energy costs to supporting more kids,” said Edwards.

Over the years, Exact Solar has also collaborated with multiple local career-development programs for aspiring solar installers and professionals, including the Philadelphia Opportunity Improvement Center on North Broad Street, the Energy Coordinating Agency in Kensington, and PowerCorps PHL.

The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia honorees were recognized on June 22 at a celebratory event at the FS Investment Corporate Headquarters in Philadelphia.
