NEWTOWN BUSINESS OWNER NAMED 2016 BRAVA WINNER BY SMART CEO MAGAZINE

Recognition ceremony to be held July 12th at Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, PA.

Philadelphia SmartCEO and headline sponsor Comcast Business has named Bucks County business owner and resident Cheryl Schrier as a 2016 Brava Award winner. The Brava Awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of 40 of Greater Philadelphia’s top women business leaders. SmartCEO Brava winners combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community and are exemplary leaders of both their companies and their communities. They encourage local philanthropy and mentor up-and-coming leaders. This year’s class collectively generates more than $3.52 billion in annual revenue and employs 20,638 individuals. The winners will be profiled in the July/August issue of the SmartCEO magazine and celebrated at a high energy awards ceremony on July 12, 2016 at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, PA. Schrier is Vice President and Co-Founder of Newtown based Building Control Systems & Services, Inc., a union electrical contracting firm established in 1999 that specializes in commercial controls installation. Installing large scale, innovative building automation and building management systems, Building Control Systems & Services, Inc. has successfully completed construction of many high profile projects throughout the Tri-State region including the BNY Mellon Center, PECO headquarters, and Drexel and West Chester Universities. Cheryl is also President of the Atrium at Newtown Condominium Association and a managing member of 103 N. State LLC. With a unique passion to restore communities from within, she engages her employees, customer, vendors and fellow business owners in combating poverty and homelessness, and serves as an active member of the Board of Directors for the Bucks County Opportunity Council, which provides individuals with opportunities to move from poverty/public assistance to economic self-sufficiency. She is a longtime supporter of the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, and served in a leadership and design role to build a new kitchen for the homeless shelter. She is also a member of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, serving as Co-Chair of the 2016 Women in Business Roundtable, as well as an active member of the Newtown Rotary Club. She received the Newtown Business Association 2016 Community Service Award and the 2016 Woman of Distinction Award from Soroptimist International of Indian Rock.
