Newtown Businesses Team Up For A Night of “Hardware & (Tom) Hanks”
This kooky special event begins with an after-hours party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Newtown Hardware House.

NEWTOWN, PA — Two of Newtown’s most iconic businesses are teaming up for a hardware-themed party and screening of “The Money Pit” on Thursday, April 13.
This kooky special event begins with an after-hours party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Newtown Hardware House. While there, guests will mingle in the aisles while enjoying several hardware-themed drinks (think screwdrivers and rusty nails!) and some light bites, including the Hardware House’s famous cookies.
Starting at 7 p.m., guests can begin making their way down State Street to the historic Newtown Theatre for a 7:30 screening of “The Money Pit.” This 1986 comedy stars a young Tom Hanks and Shelley Long as a couple who buys a suspiciously low-priced country estate. They soon realize why the price was so low when the house begins to hilariously fall down around their ears.
