Newtown Chamber Orchestra Kicks Off 27th Season Next Month

The Newtown Chamber Orchestra will celebrate its 27th season with three concerts beginning Nov. 12.

The Newtown Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of professional musicians who perform concerts locally.

All Newtown Chamber Orchestra concerts are conducted by Russell W. Hoffmann, Music Director and Conductor. Hoffmann is the founding Music Director of the Newtown Chamber Orchestra and has a "wide, diversified musical background," the nonprofit organization says.

The first concert, “Baroque Plus” will be played on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 Newtown-Yardley Road, Newtown. The music will include selections by Arensky, Woodcock, Respighi and Dvorak, with selections by guest soloist John Burkhalter.

Then, on Saturday, Jan. 21, the second concert of the season, “Soloists on Stage”, will feature artists from The Opera Project, Scott Force, Brass Choir, and John Burkhalter, Recorder.

The final concert of the season is scheduled for Saturday, April 8. “Spring Vibrations” will include selections by Rossini, Hummel and Mozart and the 2017 Young Musicians Competition winner (to be announced).

All concerts start at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 Newtown /Yardley Road, Newtown.

Individual concert tickets are $25. Seniors are $20; students with valid ID are $10; and children under 12 are admitted free. Season tickets (three concert series) are $60 for adults; $50 for seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance through our website. There is open seating, and complimentary refreshments at all concerts.
