Newtown Community Yard Sale Set For April 1

The community yard sale is April 1 in Newtown, plus the popular tennis ball hunt activity with Scooby-Doo for kids is the next day.

Newtown Township Parks and Recreation has a few notable events coming up.

On Saturday, April 1 there will be a community yard sale starting at 9 .m. at Veteran's Park. Shoppers will be able to find anything from sports equipment, to clothes, bikes, toys and more.

If you'd like a space to sell items, it's $15. You'll need to set up by 8:40 a.m. that day. Register for a seller space online at www.newtownfun.com or call 215-968-2800, ext. 239. All unsold items must be taken with you. No professional vendors and no early bird shoppers.

All proceeds from space purchases will benefit maintenance efforts for the township's parks.

Then, on Sunday, April 2, the Tennis Ball Hunt event for kids will be held at Roberts Ridge Park starting at 1:30 p.m.

Scooby-Doo will be on hand to start the hunt and for photos. Then, after the hunt, there will be refreshments, games and activities. The cost is $5. Click here for more information or to register.
