Newtown Creek Coalition Hosting Water Testing Event Saturday

The Newtown Creek Coalition will host a water testing event this Saturday, May 14 at the Newtown Common.

Residents can stop by the Newtown Common any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to learn about the water tests being conducted by Bucks County Community College and the Newtown Creek Coalition.

Newtown Common is located next to the creek at the west end of Greene Street in Newtown Borough.

"This long-term water quality monitoring program will assess any effects that Borough and Township activities might have on the creek's ecological health," the coalition said in an announcement.

It will be a great hands-on learning opportunity for children, organizers say. To participate, children need to be accompanied by an adult.
