Newtown Democrats Meet July 20
At the Court Inn, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20. All welcome.

The Newtown Democratic Club of Newtown Borough and Newtown Township is launching a recruitment initiative aimed at increasing the number of block captains and other volunteers to work on the presidential, congressional and legislative campaigns now through November. New volunteers are invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Court Inn, on Court Street at East Centre Avenue, in Newtown Borough.
“This is a great way to get involved in this year's exciting campaigns. Whether you have a couple of hours just once to give, or want to make a weekly commitment from now through November, you will be welcomed with open arms. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people,” said Dennis Fisher, the club’s chairperson.
“The initiative is particularly aimed at developing block captains, who will build relationships with their neighbors to help increase participation and turnout,” said George Skladany, who is organizing the effort. “There will also be opportunities to canvas, phone bank and distribute literature for Steve Santarsiero for Congress, Perry Warren for State Representative, our presidential candidate and others down the ballot.”
