Newtown Halloween Parade Moved Indoors Due To Forecast

The forecast for Saturday is only getting worse, so organizers have decided to hold this year's event indoors at the Newtown Theatre.

NEWTOWN, PA — Organizers of the Newtown Halloween Parade have opted to hold this year's event indoors due to the less-than-ideal forecast for Saturday.

Forecasters say it is increasingly likely that a Nor'easter storm is on track to hit the region this weekend with heavy rains and whipping winds.

Parade organizers released the following statement on Thursday afternoon:

"Due to the forecast of 100% chance of rain and high winds on Saturday morning we will be moving the parade indoors to the The Newtown Theatre. We are very thankful this space was been made available for us! The address is 120 N. State Street Newtown PA. In addition to on-street parking, there are two municipal parking lots available. One is located behind the stores on S. State Street between Washington and Centre Avenues, and the other is next to Borough Hall, 23 N. State Street. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., judging at 9:30. We will make the event fun for kids and adults! We have DJ Joel Katz playing some amazing tunes, and besides showing off your costumes parading on stage, we may be able to fit in a dance party!"

This year's costume categories are:
