Newtown Movies in the Park, the borough's free outdoor movie series, starts this week with a screening of "The Iron Giant."

Newtown Movies in the Park, the borough's free outdoor movie series, starts this week.

The series will debut Wednesday, June 22 with a screening of "The Iron Giant" at Linton Memorial Park. The movie is rated PG.

According to the National Weather Service's forecast, Wednesday looks like it will be a nice evening for an outdoor movie. The current forecast calls for clear skies and highs in the low 80s with lows in the upper 50s.

The series continues each Wednesday at Linton Memorial Park, located at the corner of Lincoln and Penn streets. Movies start at 8 p.m.; trivia and games begin at 7:30 p.m. There is no movie Wednesday, July 6.
