Newtown Sets Date For 2016 Halloween Parade

Time to start thinking about your costumes! The annual Newtown Halloween Parade is coming up.

Newtown's annual Halloween Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Newtown Advance reports the recreation board received permission to hold the annual parade that day during a meeting earlier this month.

The parade goes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and starts at The Stocking Works parking lot on South State Street. It ends at the Newtown Theatre, where prizes will be given out following the event.

Registration and costume judging begin at 9 a.m. at the Stocking Works parking lot.

Everyone is invited to march. Last year's categories included: Halloween Humor; Halloween Horror; Storybook & Fantasy; TV & Movies; Sports; Group Theme; Parent & Child; Youngest Dressed; Pampered Pets; Mayor's Trophy.
