Newtown Theatre Features An Extended Musical Weekend
The tunes start on Wednesday and run through Sunday at the newly renovated theatre on North State Street.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA – It’s an extended weekend of music at the historic Newtown Theatre. The tunes start on Wednesday and run through Sunday. The five concerts include:
- “Anticipation: The Music of Carly Simon” on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. This special matinee concert stars Lauryn Obozian singing the beloved music of this American legend. She will be accompanied by a six-piece band and guest singer Olivia Perrin. This concert is presented by Larry McKenna and benefits Pickering Manor.
- “Dueling Singing Impersonators: Dubé and Diamond” on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. This concert features two singers with a five-octave range impersonating 60 iconic singers in 90 minutes. From Aerosmith to Adele and Tom Jones to Frankie Valli, this duo imitates the greatest hits of everyone’s favorite artists from the 1960s to today.
- “A Night of Bowie” on Friday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. haZy cosmic jive performs a high-energy Bowie tribute, including Ziggy-era classics, deep cuts and more.
- “The Absolute Adele Tribute” on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3 and 8 p.m. Jennifer Cella delivers a stunningly accurate portrayal of the British songstress. Cella is an accomplished singer who toured with the world-renowned Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a lead vocalist for nearly a decade.
- “Chris Pinnella + The Big Band Project” on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. Powerhouse vocalist Chris Pinnella and his 12-piece big band offer an afternoon of classics, reimagined hits, and legendary charts. Pinnella, who has shared the stage with Julie Andrews and toured the globe with the platinum-selling Trans-Siberian Orchestra, brings together a phenomenal group of musicians playing a hit parade of classics ranging from Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Sinatra and Ella, to reimagined hits (big band style) by The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elvis, Van Morrison, The Eagles, and many more.
