NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will screen “Speed is Expensive: Philip Vincent and the Million Dollar Motorcycle” on Thursday, September 7 at 7:30 p.m. Narrated by Ewan McGregor, the documentary tells the dramatic story of the legendary Vincent motorcycle.

Before the film, an original Vincent motorcycle will be parked in front of the theatre (weather dependent). Everyone who attends the documentary will be entered into a raffle to win a one-of-a-kind, vintage-style painting on canvas of the Vincent motorcycle logo, which was made by Newtown artist Bobby Gilanyi.

Vincent motorcycles were revolutionary machines produced by eccentric engineer Philip Vincent and his small team in war-ravaged England. Their bikes took on the world and garnered more speed records than any other manufacturer during their brief production. Today, racing models fetch $1 million at auctions and in private sales.
