NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will screen the 1993 hit comedy, “Groundhog Day,” on Groundhog Day, Friday, February 2 at 1 p.m.

“Groundhog Day” tells the story of Phil Connors (Bill Murray), a cynical Pittsburgh TV weatherman sent out to cover the annual Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney and the emergence of Punxsutawney Phil from his hollow.

Connors, however, becomes trapped in a time loop, forcing him to repeatedly relive February 2 - Groundhog Day.
