Newtown Theatre will screen the film 67 years to the day when it first showed it in 1952. Admission will be roughly what it was then.

NEWTOWN, PA — After discovering an old promotional poster, the Newtown Theatre learned it screened “The Day the Earth Stood Still" on Friday, Feb. 22, 1952.
As a tribute to its historic past, the Newtown Theatre will screen the same film on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 – exactly 67 years to the day when it screened it in 1952.
Admission to the film is just $0.48, thanks to support from Newtown attorney Alice Hart Hughes. That's roughly what it would have cost in 1952.
