Newtown Troop 29's Timmy Haas Earns Eagle Scout Rank
Eagle Scout Timmy Haas completed a project on the Cross Country Course at Tyler State Park.

Troop 29’s Timmy Haas has recently earned the highest rank in scouting- that of Eagle Scout. An avid runner, Timmy’s Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project benefited Cross Country Course at Tyler State Park in Newtown.
Working with Park Director Ranger Brian Flores, Scoutmaster Dave Clark and Council Rock High School North Cross Country Coach Dave Marrington, Timmy led a group of 40 volunteers from his troop, his track teams as well as family and friends in the project which improved the course which is used by local teams for training and meets. The project took over 150 volunteer hours and including planting trees which were donated by Feeney’s Nursery as well as clearing, widening and mulching Woodchip Hill with mulch donated by Shady Brook Farm.
The son of Tim and Christine Haas of Newtown, Timmy is an Ordeal Member of Order of the Arrow and was a member of the BSA Bucks County Council Contingent to Philmont Scout Reservation in 2014.

Timmy is a senior at Council Rock High School North where he is a member of the Math National Honor Society. He has earned 8 varsity letters for his participation on the school’s Men’s Cross County, Indoor Track and Men’s Track Teams. He is co-captain of the Men’s Cross Country Team which recently won the Pennsylvania State Title. Timmy volunteers with St. Andrew Catholic Youth Organization’s Cross Country and Track Teams. After graduation in June, Timmy plans to study computer science and run Cross Country at college.
